FIRE PROTECTION has a name.....TOTAL
The development of TOTAL over the last, close to one hundred years, reflects also a part of the history of fire protection. In 1912 the “Kaiserliche Patentamt Berlin” patented the first TOTAL automatic “Quick-Dry-Fire-Extinguisher”.
In the 1930s TOTAL developed the “Air Foam Extinguishing Principle” and introduced for the first time the production of foam by means of water and air. Further, the introduction of tactical fire attacks with the combined use of powder and foam, introduced in the 1950s, was an additional step in the ladder of success for TOTAL. Today, our attention is largely focused on improving the development of fire extinguishers and extinguishing agents.
TOTAL incessantly also demonstrates its ecological responsibility – for instance in the safe disposal of the now prohibited extinguishing agent Halon, or by introducing new technical developments such as the foam extinguisher with the cartridge system – to take the load off our environment.
TOTAL is now part of the international working Tyco International LTD.
